Community Life at Wheatland Hills RadfordWheatland Hills’ many gracious common areas offer residents a chance to mingle, share activities or just relax. Our lobby features a warm brick hearth that invites small gatherings. Lounges throughout the facility are graciously furnished and equipped with flat-screen TVs. Several attractive courtyards tempt residents to step out into the air, either for an invigorating stroll or just a change of scenery. Our Sweet Memories community has its own secure courtyard, to encourage residents facing memory loss to interact with nature and continue to stay physically active in a safe environment. Exercise classes, beauty treatments, games and theme parties are offered nearly every day of the week at Wheatland Hills Radford, and challenge our residents to stay mentally and physically fit. Church services and devotional gatherings also feed the spiritual needs of our residents. Thanks to our enthusiastic Activities Directors on staff and many energetic volunteers, Wheatland Hills is bustling with activity for residents of all abilities. Outings and in-house events make sure our residents stay active, continue their lifelong learning and have fun! One of our most popular events is our regular Family Night, which invites loved ones into our community to share a meal and delight in entertainment. We also reach out into the Radford community by sponsoring a monthly “Community Bingo,” where neighbors from around the area are invited to play alongside our residents. Proceeds from that well-attended event are donated to local charities as a way for our residents and facility to give back. Each month’s Activities Calendar includes opportunities like:
Wheatland Hills has an active Resident’s Council that meets monthly and gives seniors a voice in their community. Commonwealth Stories: Community Life at Wheatland Hills Radford
